Quick answer
- GCash GInsure sells travel plans from licensed insurers. As listed on 28 October 2026, that included Standard Travel Protect International (P350 Asia, P411 international), Malayan Travel Master (P950 to P1,190) and Travel Saver Plus (P103).
- GCash is the seller, not the insurer. For Standard's plan, the GCash Help Center says you file claims with Standard Insurance by email with the documents it lists.
- Klook sells add-on protection for bookings and separate travel insurance plans, with its Philippine plan called TravelJoy. The insurer named in your policy handles claims.
Naka-GCash na tayong lahat, kaya natural lang na doon na rin bumili ng travel insurance. A few taps, bayad, may policy ka na. And if you booked your tours on Klook, may insurance option din doon sa checkout. So which one makes sense, and is either one enough?
We read GCash's GInsure page, the GCash Help Center and Klook's insurance pages on 28 October 2026. Here's what each one actually sells, who the insurer is, how claims work, and when a standalone policy may fit better.
TravelInsurance.ph is an independent guide run by Dominet BV. We're not an insurer, agent or broker, and we don't sell policies or give personal prices. Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Local insurers we mention may not pay us anything. That never changes what we write. Read our affiliate disclosure. GCash and Klook don't pay us, and there are no affiliate links on this page.
The key point: GCash and Klook are sellers, not insurers
When you buy travel insurance in GCash or Klook, the app is where you pay. The policy is issued by an insurance company, and that company decides your claim. Before you buy, always check which insurer is named on the plan. That tells you whose policy wording, claim process and hotline apply.
What GCash GInsure sells
On 28 October 2026, the GInsure travel insurance page listed these plans:
| Plan | Insurer shown | As listed on 28 October 2026 | Main limits listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel Protect International | Standard | P350 per trip in Asia, P411 per trip international (max 90 days) | 500k emergency medical assistance, 50k travel inconvenience, 1M personal liability, 1M personal accident |
| Travel Master with Covid-19 | Malayan | P950 local, P970 Asia, P1,190 international, per trip (max 90 days) | Dual cover for emergency medical (accident or sickness, and COVID-19), 1M personal accident |
| Travel Saver Plus | Not clearly named on the page; check in the app | P103 per trip, Philippines and Southeast Asian countries (max 90 days) | 500k accidental death and disablement, 500k unprovoked murder and assault, 250k medical reimbursement, 10k burial, 20k travel inconvenience |
| Smart Flight Delay | Not named on this page; GCash's promo page links it to Oona | P149 one-time payment | Lounge access on delay, 10k passenger injury or death, up to 4 flights |
The page header says "emergency travel reimbursements up to P2.5M". That's the highest figure on the page, not the limit of every plan. Read each plan's own limits.
On Travel Saver Plus and Smart Flight Delay, check the insurer name inside the app before you pay, since the travel page doesn't make it fully clear. GCash's March 2026 promo page named Smart Flight Delay as an Oona product. That promo also offered vouchers to select verified users, valid for 30 days, so read the promo terms if you see one in your app.
Standard Travel Protect International, in detail
The GCash Help Center has a full page on this plan. Key points as of 28 October 2026:
Who can buy. Ages 0 to 59, traveling for vacation, study, seminars or conferences. Ages 60 to 75 may be covered with a premium surcharge.
Who's excluded. Skilled persons or skilled laborers traveling for employment, and COVID-19 high-risk occupations such as healthcare workers and nursing professionals. If you're an OFW or a nurse going abroad for work, this plan isn't for that trip. See our OFW guide.
Benefits listed. Travel inconvenience benefits like trip cancellation, delayed departure, missed connection, baggage delay and baggage loss. Emergency medical benefits like medical treatment, evacuation and repatriation, compassionate visit and emergency dental care. Personal accident benefits like accidental death and burial assistance, plus personal liability.
Cashless. The Help Center describes it as a cashless travel insurance plan.
One policy per trip. Standard can only issue one policy per trip. To upgrade, you contact Standard.
Policy delivery. You get a payment confirmation, then your policy by SMS and email. If it doesn't arrive within 24 hours, contact Standard.
Claims. You fill out Standard's claim form and send it to Standard with the required documents. The list includes the claim form, an incident report, a copy of the policy, original official receipts, flight itinerary and boarding pass, and passport pages with entry and exit stamps. Medical claims need medical reports and the hospital statement of account. Baggage claims need the airline's Property Irregularity Report.
Emergency evacuation. The Help Center says evacuation and repatriation are arranged by the emergency assistance provider, and lists Standard's hotline for this.
Cancellation. Requests to cancel and refund go to Standard before the start date of the policy, subject to review.
Standard vs Oona in GCash
People ask this a lot on Reddit. On the GInsure travel page we read, the full travel plans were from Standard and Malayan. Oona's name appeared on GCash's March 2026 promo page for Smart Flight Delay and an Oona Infinity product. If you want Oona's full travel plans, Oona sells them on its own site, with International Travel listed from P299 for a 5-day trip on 28 October 2026. Compare the medical limit, age rules and claim process, not just the price. Our cost guide lists both.
What Klook sells
Klook's insurance page, Klook Protect, offers two kinds of product.
Booking add-ons. These protect a single Klook booking, not your health. Klook lists a No-show Refund, which it says gets you up to 60% of the cost of your booking back, and a Satisfaction Guarantee, which it says gets you up to a full refund if a booking didn't meet expectations. These are not travel insurance in the usual sense. They won't pay a hospital bill.
Travel insurance. Klook also sells travel insurance plans. Its page describes add-on travel cover that includes overseas medical expenses, travel cancellation, luggage delay and adventure protection, and fuller travel insurance where you enter your destination and pick a plan to see the price. Klook's page says cover starts from US$1.50 a day.
The Philippine plan. Klook's Philippine product page is titled "Buy TravelJoy online", for Philippine residents only. We couldn't load the full product details on 28 October 2026, so open the page and check the insurer, limits, age rules and price shown to you.
Policy and claims. Klook says you get the policy wording by email as soon as payment is complete. For individual travel insurance, it says to contact the insurance provider found in your policy document to claim. Klook's support team is on live chat for questions.

| GCash GInsure | Klook | |

| Prices shown | Fixed per-trip prices on the page | Price shown after you enter your trip |
| Claims | With the insurer, per the Help Center | With the insurer in your policy document |
When a standalone policy fits better
Both apps are convenient. A policy bought directly from an insurer, or a plan you compare more carefully, may fit better when:
- You need a Schengen visa. Some embassies only accept insurers on their own list. Check before you buy anywhere. See our Schengen guide.
- You're 60 or older. Age limits and surcharges vary. See our seniors guide.
- You have a medical condition. Pre-existing condition rules matter more than convenience.
- You need a higher medical limit. For long or far trips, compare limits across plans.
- You're traveling for work. Standard's GCash plan excludes skilled workers traveling for employment.
Frequently asked questions
Is GCash travel insurance legit?
GCash sells plans issued by insurers such as Standard and Malayan, which are Philippine insurers. You can check any insurer's license on the Insurance Commission's site. Our license check guide shows how.
Paano mag-claim ng GCash travel insurance?
Sa insurer ka magki-claim, hindi sa GCash. For Standard Travel Protect International, the GCash Help Center says you fill out Standard's claim form and send it with the listed documents, like receipts, your boarding pass and passport stamps.
GCash o Klook, alin ang mas okay?
Depende sa kailangan mo. GCash shows fixed per-trip prices for several insurers. Klook sells its TravelJoy plan plus booking add-ons like No-show Refund. Compare the insurer, medical limit and age rules for your trip.
Does Klook's No-show Refund cover medical bills?
No. It's protection for a booking, not travel insurance. Klook says it gives up to 60% of the booking cost back. For medical cover you need a travel insurance plan.
Can seniors buy Standard travel insurance on GCash?
The GCash Help Center says it covers ages 0 to 59, and ages 60 to 75 may be covered with a premium surcharge.
